Orange salad recipe of 01-12-2012 [Updated on 24-05-2016]
The orange salad is a typical dish of Sicilian cuisine, a fresh and light side dish that can be served to accompany tasty main courses or as an interlude between one dish and another. In this version I accompanied the orange salad with fennel and black olives and it was a pleasant discovery for those who found themselves tasting it. As you may have noticed, I am indulging myself in using fruit in non-sweet recipes and I must say that I am really enjoying these combinations so do not be surprised if you will find other such recipes on the blog;) Now I leave you, I take advantage of the fact that it has stopped raining and I start my Christmas shopping and I wish a happy Saturday to those who happen to be passing by. Kisses
How to make orange salad
Clean the fennel by cutting the stem and the first hardest leaf. Slice the fennel very thinly and transfer them to a large bowl with ice water
Peel the orange in vivo, removing the peel and the white part and slice it too.
Put the well drained and dried fennel in a bowl, the orange wedges and the pitted black olives and season with a dressing prepared with extra virgin olive oil, salt and pepper.
Mix well and serve your orange salad on plates.
